Yavuz Eroğlu was appointed to the presidency of Turkey, Middle East and Africa by the Waste Free Oceans movement, which was launched in Europe in order to clean the world coast from waste. Within the scope of Waste Free Oceans, which is headquartered in Belgium and operating with the organization of the European Union, the wastes in the sea are collected and recycled by fishermen through special networks. The Nets do not harm the fish while collecting waste. This project aims to clean the world's coasts from floating wastes by 2020, preventing over-fishing and protecting the ecosystem.
The Waste Free Oceans movement, launched in 2011 and rapidly growing in a short time, is under the leadership of Anna Rosbach, a European Parliament deputy and Environmental Commission coordinator. EU maritime and Fisheries Minister Maria Damanaki also supports the project. Based on the fact that the waste problem in the sea does not belong to a single country, the international operations of WASDE Free Oceans are proceeding through four presidencies: Europe, America, the Middle East and Africa, India and the Far East.
The Waste Free Oceans Foundation, where Anna Rosbach, a member of the European Parliament, is the Chairman and General Secretary of the European Association of Plastic Manufacturers (EuPC), has chosen Yavuz Eroğlu as the chairman of Turkey, Middle East and Africa. He will be responsible for the cleanliness of the seas in 69 countries.
