Pagev continues to be the voice of the Turkish plastics industry in Europe. Yavuz Eroğlu was appointed as executive board member of Eupc European Plastic Manufacturers Association, which holds the European plastic market for the second time. Eroglu, the first and only Turk elected to Eupc General Assembly, will carry Eupc's projects to Turkey through pagev. Pagev will start to work with the "Happy Fish project" which aims to clean our sea shores from waste, and will explain that plastic wastes are recyclable and valuable material for all of Turkey, especially in Istanbul. EuPC European Plastic Manufacturers Association, the roof Organization of 51 European-based plastic Associations, represents more than 50,000 plastic manufacturers. EuPC is the leader of the European plastics industry with a turnover of 280 billion euros per year and employs 1 million 600 thousand people, and plays an active role in making plastic decisions in the European Union Parliament. The union has the right to speak on all issues related to the sector, especially the environment and the new regulations. EuPC, which took a member of the Turkish plastics sector to its management by realizing the first one in 2012, did not break the code and again chose SEM plastic General Manager Yavuz Eroğlu to the Executive Committee. Yavuz Eroğlu, who has served as the manager of many non-governmental organizations so far and has served as the president of PAGEV four months ago, will have a say in the implementation of many projects, especially packaging, in Eupc's new term. As in our country, plastics come first among the most widely used products in Europe. Increasing consumption of plastics brings recycling to the agenda of the world for a healthy and sustainable environment. In this respect, PAGEV President Yavuz Eroğlu, who made the increase of recycling consciousness in our country as the First agenda item, accelerated the efforts on this issue after being brought to EuPC Executive Board Member and decided to continue the “Happy Fish” project.

 

The Waste Free Oceans movement, which was launched by EuPC in Europe in order to clear the world coast from waste and carried out on four continents: Europe, USA, Far East-India, Middle East-Africa, was launched under the leadership of Pagev in our country under the name “Happy Fish”. The project, which started in 2012 in Büyükada, was supported by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanism and the Turkish Marine Research Foundation (TÜDAV). The Happy Fish Project brought a special network from France to clean marine waste without damaging the fish. A group of fishermen who sail by the “Happy Fish” Boat With this special network brought their wastes to the beach and the wastes were recycled.

The “Happy Fish” Project, which includes the cleaning of the Sea coast as well as recycling works, will be carried out again by pagev. Within the scope of the project, with the ban on hunting, a special network will be prepared for fishermen and the sea surface will be cleaned from various wastes such as metal, glass, plastic. These collected wastes will be brought back to the economy by recycling.

We believe in the importance of this project in terms of sustainable environment. Furthermore, we plan to apply all EUPC projects in Europe as pagev in Turkey in the following periods.”

At the same time, WASDE free oceans (WFO) Turkey, Middle East and Africa, president of the Yavuz Eroğlu, “plastic sector living in a country surrounded by the sea on three sides, while the pollution caused by waste in the sea can not be ignored. The wastes in the seas of our country consist mostly of coastal waste, inner water waste, plastic bottles, paper, glass, cloth, tin, sponge, rubble, medical waste and most of all cigarette related waste, such as butchery. This pollution threatens marine life and human health. With this project, we will clean our seas and encourage recycling. We will also spread all over the coast of Turkey, especially in Istanbul. In addition, pagev and plastic sector as an indicator of our responsibility in the environment "happy Fishes" project will be an example to other sectors, he said.
