Speaking at the meeting held in Ankara on Sunday, November 20, 2012, Mr. Yavuz Eroğlu emphasized that plastics are widely used in all areas of life and that plastics are the most environmentally friendly materials compared to other alternatives because of their easy and numerous recyclable properties.

Only 4% of total crude oil production is used as a source for polymers, while the rest 96% is burned in motor vehicles and homes for heating purposes indicating Eroğlu, clearly stated that plastic use, rather than consuming natural resources, is an alternative to the materials produced from other natural sources, because it protects nature ."he shed light on the environmental aspects of plastic materials.

Responding to the questions of the audience, including representatives from TCDD top management and managers of various professional organizations, TCDD employees, Eroğlu said: “ensuring the correct use of plastics and the collection of wastes for recycling will both Protect Our Nature and return as an economic value.”

At the end of the meeting, TCDD officials stated that a project (Social Responsibility) related to recycling of plastic products used in trains could be initiated, and on behalf of PAGEV, Mr. Eroğlu could support such a project with pagev's training and seminars.
