7 of the world's top 10 airline companies give plastic cups and plates

SEM plastik group is a group with a turnover of 170 million and exports to 90 countries. At the Global Entrepreneurship Summit, which was attended by Obama with a live broadcast, the group entered two companies among the fastest growing companies in Middle East, Asia and Turkey. Many special products, including the non-combustible cups and plates, are being used by the world's largest airline companies. At the Global Entrepreneurship Summit held in Dubai in the last week of December, the opening of which was made by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktum of Dubai and attended by Barack Obama with a live broadcast, the fastest growing companies in Middle East, Asia and Turkey were announced. While Credoy polymer company of SEM Plastik and SEM Group is one of the fastest growing companies, Yavuz Eroğlu, General Manager of SEM Plastik, has been awarded the summit Special Award with its entrepreneurship, innovation and investments in Palestine.

We met Yavuz Eroğlu, a 38-year-old young businessman, in the first days of the New Year. Yavuz Eroğlu is a businessman who brings innovations to the sector. He spent his childhood in production facilities. He always liked to read. He has an engineering head and a social intelligence. All he does is prove it. And he's a marathoner. He likes to run. He actually ran in our conversation!

- SEM plastic was built by your father. When did you guys get involved? How did your father set up this company?

We're from Malatya. My Father Namık Kemal Eroğlu comes to Istanbul after high school. Yildiz Technical University, now known as silkar group, Taral agricultural machinery manufacturer entered the company. While working there, he sees that plastics are not produced in Turkey but come from abroad. Parts are being bought from Italy for a job, then there is a shortage of foreign exchange. They will unite those parts and export them to Iran, but they can't. My father says, "I produce this." A simple pumping machine for spraying trees, manometer. My father says, "I'm going to quit and start my own business." They make a deal with the team he worked with, and they want to get what my dad did. He's building the factory. I used to go to our factory in Bayrampasa. I worked every summer. I don't remember ever taking a vacation...

- What schools did you study?

I went to Primary School in public school. Then I went to the College of culture. I studied at ITU Electronics and communication department. I kept reading from there. I took Marmara University exams when I was in the military. I did my military service in Ankara. They sent it to Ankara due to foreign language.I haven't loved Ankara since I was a child.

There is a factory in Palestine

- Why?

My father sent me to Ankara when I was very young. I never liked Ankara. They wouldn't take me seriously because I was younger. "I do my military service in the southeast, I do not do it in Ankara" came to me in Ankara.

- You have a lot of variety. What Fields did you specialize in? How did you make a difference and run ahead of other companies? In the last two years, 98 percent of your plastic supply company has grown.

Credoy polymer company brings raw materials. We know the best raw material. Companies rely on us for knowing which raw material to use for which business. Trade is based on trust. We specialize in travel. We did this first. Plastic plates are out of the glass. When we go to an airline, we know the conditions for the fire, the fuel consumption of the plane. Today we are supplying 7 of the largest airline companies in the world. Qatar Airways, Emirates Airlines, we provide products. We have a lot of rights to this.

- Don't you work with airlines in Turkey?

We work with Pegasus. Ali Sabancı arrived at an entrepeneur request. He's interested in innovation. We give food to people with money, we give it to them on a porcelain plate. Plates are very heavy, fuel consumption is affecting. And he said, "porcelain is broken." In the porcelain view, he asked for plates that we could warm up the food, that could cook the food within 180 degrees, and that could not be broken. We have worked for 1.5 years for this product. We produce bakable, unbreakable, porcelain-like products. Fuel savings are great. 4.5 times lighter than the normal plate. Not disposable, wash it. Fuel consumption in a mid-body aircraft Boeing 100 km per person 3 liters of jet fuel is burned. This is why our product is important. Save up to 1 percent using this product only. 

- You don't work with thy?

They have examined this system and products. We're in the process of interviewing them. We have the patent of this product under the name of boron Plast.

- Where do you make the most intensive export?

We do it most in North America. We export to 90 countries. Urbanization triggers our jobs in the retail sector. Packaging is very important for the retail sector. The work of the female population is important. Some things need comfort to make it easy. Packaging is a very important issue for this.

- How many plants do you have?

We have factories in Istanbul, Malatya and Palestine.

- Why Palestine?

To export. We sell directly to Israel and Jordan. We send it to America from there.

- What field do you work outside of travel?

Food. We work ice cream with Unilever. We're working with Coca-Cola and Pepsi. Pınar, we're working with Danone.

MARATHON RUNNING

Yavuz Eroğlu is running marathons. He started running in 2005. He ran a marathon in Eurasia, New York, Cologne, Vienna. The first 100 in his age category. "Pain, no matter what the target audience, to predict the end of a good sport run," he says. Yavuz Eroğlu has three sons. "You heard the prime minister," I said, "I don't know if I have a better way."

There's no scientific evidence. Life is prolonged. Our life expectancy has increased. The population is growing. "Nature of everything" is not exactly a determination. What was the level of infant mortality when everything was natural? Let's have them. Now the babies are alive. That's a success in medicine. Humanity is not getting worse. I agree with that, but it's not scientific to call yoghurt packaging carcinogenic. I am also a member of EUPC Executive Board of European Union plastic manufacturers. We follow these things in Europe. There is no authority in Turkey to answer these questions scientifically in this field. In Germany for example. He's getting plastic certification.

- You sell yoghurt packaging and container to Europe. Are you doing the same in Turkey?

Yeah same thing. We got all the certificates in European countries. We're going through all the inspections there. We're sending the same thing in Turkey. We're sending them to 90 countries in the world. Milk can not be exported, but we export the container. There are also plastic types. One is said to not produce the other is produced. All our products are used in EU countries and USA. It's a rumor about plastic. 99 percent of those in this sector are SMEs. They don't have such strong lobbies. Perception plates, in the bowl. However, plastic is everywhere. Inside the shaving foam, all the prosthesis used for the body, all the medicine capsules, all the plastic in the eye-mounted lenses. It is widely used in textiles.

- Could it be environmentally-friendly plastic?

Collecting and recycling. There's plastic all over the hospitals. It is collected as waste and converted into plastic. It's easier to convert glass and metal. It is also easily collected in Turkey. Thanks to our Roman citizens. We can't recycle because we work on food, but it is used in other industries. We don't have a garbage collection system. Different garbage cans are being placed. People take care, but the city puts them in the same garbage truck. Municipalities also have to renew themselves. Biodegradable garbage in its source...

- Why is tomato juice consumed on the plane too much?

The cabin pressure on the plane is adjusted to a certain altitude. It's like you're on a plane at the top of a 3,000-foot mountain. That pressure is lower than the pressure on the floor. Because the pressure is low, the aroma of tomato juice is more. The smell of tomato juice is more pleasant at high altitude. It's scientific. The rate of salt and sugar in the aircraft is not the same as in the ground. We have worked hard on this information over time. Another example, for example. We're giving a glass to Singapore Airlines, and we got a complaint from them. They told us, "foam in your beer glasses is fading faster, foam was staying in the previous company." We checked, the men are right. We're measuring, the glass is the same shape. We measure the materials used. We looked at different beers...

 What's my problem?

We consulted them because they're the soap operatives of the foam business. It's about the foam surface tension, it's about the angle bubbles at the point where the liquid touches. - Do you have other products like this?
